Scorpio-LK - Barracuda Toyota Lexus ID Code Box & ESL Reset Software Activation

The Scorpio-LK Barracuda provides a comprehensive solution for Toyota and Lexus smart system vehicles, allowing users to reset both ID Code Box and ESL (Electric Steering Lock) for vehicles 2013 and newer. This software activation is essential for situations such as all keys lost, enabling full resynchronization using standard Toyota diagnostic procedures (Techstream).

By resetting the ESL and ID code box, the system allows replacement of the certification ECU (smart box) with a new one that contains at least one paired key. Alternatively, a compatible second-hand certification ECU (matching type/part number, pre-2017, not locked: P1 88 A8 A9 AA) can be used with Tango+ and the Toyota/Lexus smart key system OBD framework to create an emulator on the bench, which is then synchronized with the reset ID code and ESL.

Barracuda Adapter H-Immo – Operation Procedure:

Connection Diagram (Vehicle)

1. Disconnect the vehicle’s Certification ECU (Smart Box).

2. Connect the Barracuda H-Immo adapter to the vehicle’s LIN line via the ESL connector. Locate, unplug, and connect as shown in the diagram.
   

3. Start the Barracuda software and navigate to ECU Maker → Toyota → ID Code Reset.
   

4. Press Test Connection to verify wiring, then proceed with Reset ID CODE.

Connection Diagram (Workbench)

• For Toyota & Subaru 40 & 80-bit ID code boxes, connection on the board is the same as above. Follow the same operation procedure.

Power Supply:

The Barracuda system requires 9–24V DC via a 5.5x2.1mm centre-positive plug. Mobile operation can be achieved using a Step-Up converter (5 to 9/12/24V DC) connected to a power bank, laptop USB port, or a vehicle’s 12V lighter/power supply.
