Programming is required using the Volkswagen Passat B6 Emulator Connection Adapter.
The original ESL must be connected during programming and can be removed afterward.
Successful programming disables the car’s immobilizer (IMMO OFF).
Volkswagen VW Emulator Compatibility:
Supported Models:
Volkswagen Passat (B6/B7) 2006–2014
Common Issue: Steering lock failure is a frequent problem in Volkswagen Passat B6/B7 models. Dealership solutions often involve replacing the steering lock and programming it, which can be costly and time-consuming.
Solution: The Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) Emulator eliminates the need for a new steering lock by bypassing the ESL/ELV system entirely. It replaces both the electronic steering lock module and the key reader for Megamos-48/46 transponder keys.
Bypasses the ESL/ELV System: Allows operation without the original electronic steering lock.
Simplifies Installation: Replaces the need for costly dealer solutions.
Extended Compatibility: Covers Passat models from 2006 to 2014.
Notes for Installation:
The emulator allows the car to start without a valid transponder key using any compatible key blank inserted into the slot.
Ensure the key is removed from the ignition before removing the comfort module.
Installation and Programming Steps:
Remove the Comfort Module: Located in front of the passenger seat.
Read EEPROM Data: Use tools like VVDI Prog or Orange 5 to read the EEPROM ST-M95320 from the comfort module.
Save and Transfer Data: Write the dump file to the emulator's EEPROM.
Sync the Emulator: Use the original ELV and Aftermarket emulator with the MK2358 connection adapter for synchronization.
Connect the OBD plug, original ELV, and emulator.
The green and red lights will flash for 2-3 minutes. Once the green light is steady, synchronization is complete.
Install the Emulator: Replace the original ELV with the Aftermarket emulator.
Reinstall the Comfort Module: Place it back in the car.
Start the Car: The car should now start successfully.

Important Note:
Megamos 48 Transponder Type: Once the Aftermarket Emulator is connected, the car enters IMMO OFF mode, allowing new keys to be programmed via the comfort module.
Proximity Remote Key (46 Transponder Type): After installing the Aftermarket Emulator, the car switches to IMMO OFF mode, but new key programming will not be possible unless the original steering lock is reinstalled.
This emulator provides an efficient, cost-effective solution for steering lock malfunctions in Volkswagen Passat models while eliminating the need for complex replacements.
