The Volvo Steering Lock Emulator with Sound is a professional electronic solution designed to resolve ELV (Electronic Steering Column Lock) failures on selected Volvo models. ELV failure is a common mechanical issue within the steering column lock that can prevent the vehicle from starting, even when the key is fully functional.

This emulator replaces the need for installing and programming a new ELV module by simulating the original steering lock operation, including lock sound functionality, restoring normal vehicle start behavior.

Brief:

• ELV is a self-occurring Mechanical Failure in the Steering Column Lock.
• The Occurrence of the Fault does not depend on any fault.
• In case of malfunction, even if there is no problem in the vehicle key, the working key will not start the vehicle because the ELV Steering Column Lock will not be activated.
• In this case, a new ELV Steering Column Lock must be installed in the vehicle and programmed into the vehicle.

Installation:

1. Connecting the emulator to get data from CEM/ SCL
2. When the emulator starts blinking red and green, it comes into the learning mood
3. Connect the CAN line to the original steering lock
4. After connecting, put the key in the ignition, and the emulator lights green
5. After connecting, put the key in the ignition, and the emulator lights green
6. After the connection, put the key in the ignition. The emulator lights green, and the synchronization code will be saved in the emulator
7. Unplug the connections(red, green, and the black ones)
8. Finally, connect the emulator to the steering lock plug

Fitments:

You can use the S40 Emulator if the original SCL board responds to CEM requests. So the Emulator can grab some data from CEM / SCL communication.
